Lawrence Block Interview

January 25th, 2009 by Lewis Frumkes

one-night-stands-and-lost-weekendsLarry Block was named a Grand Master by the Mystery Writers of America in 1993, but readers everywhere already knew this. Stuart Woods once told me he learned much of what he knows from Larry Block. Larry has written so many books that it is difficult to keep up with them: the Bernie Rhodenbarr series; the Matthew Scudder series: The Evan Tanner series; Chip Harrison books, Keller books, Hitman books, and so on and so on. Larry is just terrific as a writer and as a friend, and I might add funny to boot. Here he talks about a volume of his early stories in which you can already see the magic of his pen. Fun interview.
