While Adam is probably best known as an essayist and commentator for The New Yorker he is also the author of the widely admired memoirs “Paris To The Moon,” and its sequel “Through The Children’s Gate.” In our interview Adam talks with me about “Angels and Ages,” a recent book about Darwin and Lincoln. Adam is smart and articulate. . . .I think you’ll enjoy our exchange.

I hope you are ready for the Reverend Jen….she is without doubt an original in the best sense of the word, in the tradition of Andy Warhol and people who gathered around him. She calls herself an “Art Star” a designation she created for herself and others, and is indeed just that. She paints, she writes, she collects trolls and runs a troll museum in her house. She is also the author of a book called “Live Nude Elf,” which should give you a sense of just how cute and funny she is. She is a live, adorable elf, though not nude when I interviewed her. She actually engages in underground participatory journalism a la George Plimpton or “Sexperiments,” as she calls them, to write stories. For example she was the lube girl on a porno film, or another time she dated a Silver Fox. Whatever she does you won’t be able to get enough of her…she is a riot and endlessly amusing. Tune in and hear me uncover the Reverend Jen.

Dubbed “The naughty boy” of dance by Martha Graham, Paul Taylor has been so cutting edge, and pioneering in his approaches to dance and choreography that he has become not only known and loved world-over, but a genuine icon. At 77 years of age he is still as feisty and humorous as ever, and in our interview tells me all kinds of fascinating inside stuff about his life and work.
