Yes, the son of Mark Van Doren, the famous Columbia professor, Charles is also the one you remember years ago who got caught up in a TV scandal. Charles who was an editor of the Encyclopedia Brittanica, is not only erudite and sweet, but his book THE JOY OF READING is one of the finest guides to the western literary canon I have read.
